My Experience

I am a writer, editor, producer and professional coach who spent thirty years as a creative executive in the publishing, television, film, animation and toy industries in Los Angeles and New York City. As a coach, I work with private clients around the country and conduct Method Writing Workshops ( jackgrapes.com ) in Midcoast Maine, New York City and Florida. My writings have been published in Evergreen Review, Lear's Magazine, Onthebus, Method Mad (a magazine I created with my students), The Herald Gazette and Maine Home+Design. I received my MFA in Fiction at Spalding University (Class of 2015) and am finishing my novel. View full resume.

My Approach

I am a catalyst, coach, mentor and teacher to writers at all levels, including novice and working writers. I guide writers, both new and experienced, to find their Deep Voice and to use this voice to produce soul-driven work that finds a home in the marketplace. And then, I coach them to get the work published in the appropriate place. As well, I work with businesses to develop the language for the website, mission statements and publications by helping them come to a deeper understanding of their message and vision. See my blog for advice and resources.
